- First thing open your Gmail account. Here you have to know one thing very clearly; you cannot export your contact via mobile Gmail app, so you will need to have access to computer.
- Then click top left side & select the contact from the menu that appears.
- Now choose that contacts which you want to export. Here if you want to exports some specific contact that check the box which is next to each contacts. But if you want to export all the contacts then ignore the check box. You can easily browse all the contacts using the menu on the left.
- Then click on “More” button which is top of your contact list. After that click on “Export” from the menu.
- Then select which group of contacts to export.
- Now select the formats. There are three format options you can choose one of them as per your convenience.
- Google CSV
- Outlook CSV
- vCard
- Now download the file. After selecting the format option, click on Export button. Here all exported contacts file will download to your computer. And once the file has downloaded then you can import it to your program of choice.
But sometime while importing the contacts from other account, some issue has occurs which make impossible for user to impost their contacts. Here I will explain some of the issues related with this and their particular solutions.
- Some error messages- suppose you are continuously trying to import more than 1000 of contacts at the same time but you will see an error message. In this case use excel to open the CSV file and separate your contacts into smaller .CSV files and import each newly created file.
- Sometime contacts info is missing- once you import the contacts and after sometime you notice that not all the info was imported. So you have to edit the CSV file using excel to add names and other missing information. Whenever you saves the file excel will ask you “are you sure want to save it in CSV format?” make sure you have to choose always yes.
